Giving back

In an effort to practicing responsible tourism and to appreciate the role played by the communities, we dedicate a percentage of all our net profits in assisting local communities and needy families. This is not limited to communities surrounding the tourist attractions only. Having evolved from poverty stricken Kibera slums of Nairobi (until lately graduating to Madhari slums), the proprietor of Tropical Vacations Inc tries to make a difference in peoples lives in slums of Nairobi and the country side.

We have sponsored several HIV orphaned students in different ways by paying school fees, buying them food, clothing and supporting their families in such ways. However, as you are aware, the overwhelming number of needy families outweighs the resources sometimes and we may not leave to our word. Tropical Vacations Inc has therefore come up with Project 2010/11 helping to start small scale income generating and sustaining initiatives to these needy people including Women’s Weaving group, Teens Kite Making project, a bee keeping and a Zero Grazing dairy project at Omiro Village .Your holiday with us, makes a difference in someone’s life!!

COMMUNITY SUPPORT
We have been organizing free medical clinics with the support of well wishers including church groups and NGO’s CBO’s especially for eyes and ears in Kisumu & Kakamega, visits and assistance to HIV bed ridden families in Kibera and Mathari slums just to give then the love they most need at this time of ailments.
