SAMBURU/LK.NAKURU/MASAI MARA.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL NAIROBI. 

On arrival in Nairobi you will be met and transferred to the Serena Hotel for your overnight stay. You are booked on Bed & Breakfast basis! Amidst the bustle of one of Africa's most dynamic cities there is a sanctuary offering peaceful rest at the Nairobi Serena Hotel. Overnight at NAIROBI SERENA (BB)  

DAY 2: NAIROBI- SAMBURU.385 Km /5 hrs drive 

You will be picked from the Serena Hotel and depart for Samburu National Reserve. The journey takes you through Nyeri which has big coffee plantation due to good climatic condition. You will go through Karatina which is the biggest open air market in the East and central Africa. Arrive in Samburu for late lunch; thereafter go for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at SAMBURU SERENA LODGE.  (B, L, D) 

DAY 3: SAMBURU. 

Pre-breakfast game drive followed with by a full breakfast at 0900hrs. The rest of the day will be taken up by tracking game and viewing birds which the park boosts around 420 different species of birds. Afternoon game drive, Dinner and overnight at SAMBURU SERENA LODGE. (B, L, D)

Situated on the fertile banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, in the centre of the Samburu Game Reserve in Kenya's rugged, semi-arid Northern Province, Samburu Serena Safari Lodge echoes the robust rhythms of riverfront life. This beautiful and serene lodge was inspired by the architecture of the indigenous Samburu tribe and blends into the verdant environment by making full use of native materials. Thatched cabins built using exotic African woods create an escapist atmosphere. The lodge has a spacious swimming pool for cooling down in the heat of the day and a special game-viewing verandah. 
 
Samburu and Shaba National Reserves are hot and dry, a classic example of arid habitat - a semi desert region of scattered scrub vegetation traversed by rivers, which are often little more than a wide sand bed. Only the Ewaso Nyiro River provides a year round source of water and it is here that the game eventually gathers into concentrations that make good game viewing. Elephants are the main attraction and there are buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah as well as reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, Oryx and other species of arid habitats. 

DAY 4: SAMBURU-NAKURU. 295 Km/4 hrs 

After breakfast you will depart Samburu to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving there in time for late lunch. Thereafter proceed for an afternoon game drive in this Lake which is the world famous as the location of the greatest bird spectacles on earth. Myriads of pink Flamingoes whose numbers are often two million would be seen feeding on the abundant algae, which thrives in the warm waters. Dinner and overnight at LION HILL LODGE. (B, L, D) 

DAY 5: LK. NAKURU-MASAI MARA- 320 km/ 5 hrs 

After breakfast you will depart Lake Nakuru National park to the famous Masaai Mara. You will arrive in Mara for lunch. After lunch you will proceed for an evening game drive in this reserve which harbors the big five: Lion, buffalo, Elephant, Rhino and Leopards. Almost all the mammals and the cats can be seen in this reserve. Various antelopes and scavengers like hyena and vultures are common. Dinner and overnight at MARA SERENA LODGE. (B, L, D) 

DAY 6: MASAI MARA. 

The whole day will be spent tracking game with your driver/guide with a break for picnic lunch at the hippo pool where you will have a chance to sport the hippos and the crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at MARA SERENA LODGE. – (B, L, D) 
 
An interpretation of a traditional Masai Manyatta village of domed huts, Mara Serena Safari Lodge is set on the saddle of a hill where it overlooks the 1,800 square kms of rolling plains, woodlands and rivers that make up the Masai Mara Triangle - one of the world's richest wildlife sanctuaries.  
 
An architectural echo of the traditional Masai manyatta (village) of domed huts, the guest rooms of Mara Serena are styled and arranged to blend into the natural landscape. Every room is an individual "hut" - spread out to give each one uninterrupted views of the plains, the meandering riverine forest and the silhouetted hills beyond. The view from the pool and surrounding decks is also a panorama of the spectacular plains of the Mara.  
 
Although not Kenya's largest park, the Mara, as the Kenyans call it, is undoubtedly its best known and contains great concentrations of wildlife. Covering an area in excess of 1,800 sq km (almost 700 sq miles) it was established in 1961 and adjoins the Serengeti in Tanzania forming the northern end of the great migration ecosystem. This is the traditional land of the Masai people, nomadic herders who choose a traditional lifestyle and who are permitted to graze their cattle in the area. 

DAY 7: MARA-NAIROBI – 340 Km/ 5 hrs 

After breakfast depart Masaai Mara for Nairobi with a game drive en-route arriving in Nairobi in the afternoon. Later on, transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
