TVKE 12: 10 NIGHTS/11 DAYS FLY-DRIVE SPECIAL:

DAY 1: SAT -ARRIVAL NAIROBI

On arrival at the Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta international Airport, we will be there to meet you for assistance and transfer to the Nairobi Safari Park Hotel to freshen up before your tour of Nairobi and suburbs.

You may relax as you take your breakfast. At around 10.00 am, you will be picked up and driven to David Sheldrick Elephant orphanage http://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/  (Open between 11.00-12.00pm) to visit the baby elephants as they are fed

Later on, proceed toward the foot of Ngong Hills for a tour of the Karen Blixen Museum. The Museum was originally the home of Karen Blixen of the Out of Africa fame. This is combined with a visit to the Giraffe Center, an educational centre and part of African Fund for Endangered Wildlife. The park has a small herd of Rothschild's Giraffe which are endangered specie and you will get a chance to feed them from a specially constructed platform.

We will drive back to town for a late lunch as we catch up with the Maasai Market –where you can browse for souvenirs, artifacts etc. Later on transfer to the Safari Park Hotel for the overnight. Overnight www.safaripark-hotel.com/(BB)

DAY 2: SUN- NAIROBI-SAMBURU- 80mins

Depart to Nairobi Wilson airport on early morning Scheduled 1020hrs Flight to the Samburu game reserve. On arrival 1130hrs, you are met at the Airstrip and transferred to Samburu Serena Safari Lodge. After Lunch depart on an afternoon game drive.

Samburu National Reserve 
A place of endless skies, dust-red plains and palm-fringed rivers, Samburu National Reserve lies on the fringes of the vast and arid desert once known as the Northern Frontier District, whose heat-scorched scrublands extend all the way to the jade-green waters of Lake Turkana and beyond. Physically dramatic, the 104 sq kilometre landscape of the Reserve features rocky battlements, craggy scarps, dry river beds and fallen boulders rising out of the thorn scrub against a backdrop of the far-distant hills and the great red table mountain known as Lololokwi. As for wildlife, Samburu provides one of the few sanctuaries in Kenya for the endangered Grevy’s zebra, the rare beisa oryx and the blue-shanked Somali ostrich whilst large herds of elephant roam the gaunt hills during the day before returning to bathe on the banks of the river in the evening.

Samburu Serena Safari Lodge

DAY 3 + 4 : MON/TUE-SAMBURU 
Morning and afternoon game drives. Day may be spent at leisure or taking part in the Optional activities (extra) camel riding. All meals and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge. – ( B, L, D)

DAY 5: WED- SAMBURU-MASAI MARA

Another morning game drive, then transfer to the airstrip for 09.30 am flight to Masai Mara arriving approx.1100hrs. Met and transferred to Mara Serena Safari Lodge. After Lunch depart on an afternoon Game drive.

The Mara Serena Safari Lodge

DAY 6: THUR- MASAI MARA

A full day at Masai Mara. Morning and Afternoon game drives across the plains. Vast herds of Wildebeest and Zebra wander across the Mara grasslands, their numbers increasing during the annual migration from the Serengeti national Park. Lion, Leopard and Cheetah follow close behind while Crocodile and Hippo congregate in the Mara and Tale rivers. Mara Serena Safari Lodge- –( B, L, D)

 Masai Mara Balloon Safari

Balloon Safari over the game filled plains and riverine forest of the Masai Mara Game Reserve is an enchanting experience. The unique perspective gives a much truer and mind blowing sense of the huge expanses of bush.

You start early from your Lodge or camp for the launch site, ready to take off with the dawn watching out for all plain’s game. On reaching the launch site you will be briefed about your Safari by your pilot.

Taking off as the sun rises, you will drift quietly above the plains, rivers and forests while gazing at spectacular scenery. The beauty of the landscape when the rising sun’s bright orange colors are displayed, the elephants at the water pool, and the gazelles and zebras scampering away, just if it was their first time to witness an alien object in the sky.

The Balloon flight lasts approximately one hour. Landing is followed by a full Champagne type breakfast prepared for you in the bush. You return to your lodge or camp by road arriving back mid morning.

Timings: 

We operate balloon safaris throughout the year. 

The evening prior to the flight, our pilot or rep will brief you and confirm the time to meet the following morning. If the you are staying at one of the lodges where we operate from, you will have to wait at the reception at around 5:30 am.

DAY 7: FRI-MASAI MARA-MOMBASA

A 15-minute drive gets you to a hearty welcome and a surprise bubbly served as you alight your vehicle. You cannot resist the charming "Jambo" from our chefs as they welcome you to our wonderfully set buffet breakfast made to your specifications as you wait. The Hippos keep you company and only say "Kwaheri" after you have had enough. After Breakfast drive back to the Lodge to pack your bags in readiness for transfer back to airstrip for late Morning/afternoon flight to Mombasa. On arrival, you are met and transferred to Baobab Beach Resort/Indian Ocean Beach Club/ Similar (AI)

DAYS: 8-10: MOMBASA SOUTH COAST

DAY 11: 03.10.09 DEPARTURE

Evening transfer to the Moi International airport for a KQ Flight departing Mombasa 0630pm for Nairobi-connect with our onward flight
