Accommodation is in the Luxury 5** Sopa and Elewana Africa properties Enjoy… DAY 2: NAIROBI-SAMBURU GAME RESERVE This morning depart by road from to buffalo spring game reserve Samburu Game Reserve – the Kenya’s rugged, semi-arid of the Northern Eastern Province. Lunch at the Samburu Sopa Safari Lodge. After lunch, afternoon game viewing drives in the game reserve. Dinner and Overnight at the Samburu Sopa Lodge. ( L, D) Samburu National Reserve DAY 3: SAMBURU GAME RESERVE Breakfast at the Samburu Sopa Lodge. After breakfast morning and afternoon game viewing drive in the Samburu game reserve. The surrounding terrain is renowned for rare game, -long necked gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and the Beisa Oryx. Leopard is the frequent passer-by. Game drives and bird watching safaris are the ideal way to experience the native wildlife in its natural splendor. DAY 4: SAMBURU TO NAIVASHA SOPA LODGE Breakfast at Samburu Sopa Lodge. This morning depart by road from Samburu to Lk. Naivasha passing via the Nyahururu Water Falls (Thompson Falls – commonly known as the T-falls!) stopping briefly. -Naivasha is a Masai name given to the area where the resort is located, denoting the characteristics of the lake including size and its tendency to roughness when windy.The history of the area has always been important as it formed the main route of the slave trade from Uganda and the highlands of Kenya, including in 1884, the Scottish explorer Joseph Thompson’s epic journey through Masai land – where he writes in his journals of his time in Naivasha. All meals and overnight at Naivasha Sopa Lodge. (B, L, D) DAY 5: NAIVASHA SOPA LODGE Today, we will spend a whole day around the shores of either of the Rift Valley Lakes Naivasha/Nakuru. Visit the Elementaita weavers for a chance to browse their wares, handicrafts, kangas and the like. A game drive in Lake Nakuru National park is possible. (B, L, D) The landscape surrounding Lake Nakuru includes areas of marsh and grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs and outcrops, stretches of acacia woodland and rocky hillsides covered with a euphorbia forest on the eastern perimeter. Set on a plateau in the Rift Valley, overlooking one of the world's greatest ornithological spectacles, Lake Nakuru, stands Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. The panoramic view from the Lodge reveals a shimmering pink glow across the Lake, created by millions of flamingos, pelicans and marabou storks; the landscape blossoms natural foliage and a startling variety of flower gardens. DAY 6: MARA SOPA LODGE After an early breakfast, continue through the Great Rift Valley floor via Narok town to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive at the lodge for lunch. Early afternoon spent at leisure. Late afternoon game drive in the reserve – home to the “Big Five”elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino as well as cheetah, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, hippo, impala, gazelle and numerous other wildlife including many hundreds of species of birds. Return to your Lodge at sundown for Dinner & Overnight. The Masai Mara is the Jewel in the Crown of East Africa, forever to be associated with vast numbers of game - the greatest wildlife experience of all. Year round the Masai Mara Reserve is host to an enormous concentration of animals, boosted by the famous wildebeest and zebra migration during July/August/October. All the Big Cats, Elephant, Black Rhino and thousands of plains game spread out before you - it's better than the Discovery Channel because you are part of the spectacle. The birds are fantastic - from the giant Martial Eagle, to the ground Hornbill and a myriad of other diverse species. The Mara is undoubtedly Hollywood Africa, grass plains interspersed with Migunga and Croton thickets, rolling hills and small kopjes, islands in the sea of grass abound. Small rivers feed massive fig trees on their banks. This is the northernmost extension of the Serengeti ecosystem and is a microhabitat in its own right. Here during the months of July to December you witness the spectacle of the migration of a million and a half Wildebeest and Zebra, with all their attendant carnivores, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Hyena and possibly Wild Dog. The rest of the year is no less exciting as the Lion and Leopard remain resident and are commonly seen hunting plains game that include Thompson and Grants Gazelle, Coke's Hartebeest, Topi, Eland, Waterbuck, great herds of Wildebeest and groups of the chestnut coated Impala. After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for a scheduled flight to Nairobi-arriving around 1245hrs..connect with a scheduled 1400hrs flight to Amboseli. On arrival, you are met at the Airstrip and transferred to the nearby Amboseli Sopa Lodge set in the Shadow of Mt. Kilimanjaro "Africa’s Highest Mountain". Check in and a freshen up before a late lunch. After Lunch relax by the pool for a while departing later in the afternoon for an introductory game viewing drive where among the Elephants we also find Zebra, Giraffe, Waterbuck and Hippo just to mention a few. The shadows of the night are illuminated by a cracking bon-fire that warms up the set up and Masai Dancers provide a vibrant performance. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Logde. (B, L, D) DAY 8: AMBOSELI SOPA LODGE A full day in Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drive. Amboseli National Park DAY 9: ARUSHA COFFEE LODGE Morning departure from Amboseli. We drive south to the Namanga border where we stop briefly for immigration formalities. Cross No Mans’ land on foot thereafter…to connect with your fully equipped Land Cruisers and driver guide. We proceed to Arusha for a late lunch at the Coffee Lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. (B, L, D) DAY 10: TARANGIRE SOPA LODGE After breakfast you are met by our professional tours guide/driver, who will deliver a short safari info briefing, and Drive south through Arusha to prehistoric-looking Tarangire National Park for a full day game viewing in the park. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. In the dry season large numbers of animals congregate along the lifeblood of the river. Arrive at your safari lodge in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive into a landscape dotted with baobab trees and umbrella-thorn acacias. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe and zebra. In addition to the animal species, the park is famous for its century-old baobab trees and over 300 species of birds. You will have hot lunch at Tarangire Sopa lodge, followed by afternoon game viewing in the park. (B, L, D) DAY 11: TARANGIRE STREETOPS LODGE A full day is spent Tarangire National Park, gazetted in 1970, the park is just 118km away from Arusha town and covers an area of 2600sq km that's about 1600 miles and derivers its name from the Tarangire River that flows through the center of the park. The river flows from south to north/northwest and empties its water in Lake Burungi. An exceptional collection of "Acacia tortilis" and baobab trees has become synonymous with the name Tarangire National Park. The best time to visit Tarangire National Park to view the wildlife is in dry season, from June-October. All meals and overnight stay at the Tarangire Treetops Lodge. (B, L, D) DAY 12: SERENGETI SOPA LODGE Breakfast will be served at the Lodge, followed, thereafter with the Safari to Serengeti Plain. The wide, grassy plains will signal your arrival in the Serengeti. Covering over 5,700 square miles, Serengeti National Park hosts the majority of one of the world’s last great migratory events. Spacious plains, savanna with acacia trees sprouting intermittently from the Earth, monolithic kopjes that serve as granite oases, and somber woodlands make up the massive tracts of land within the Serengeti’s borders. The animal life in the Serengeti is as diverse as the landscape. A sunset game viewing en route in the endless plain of Serengeti. Arrive at the lodge for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D) DAY 13: SERENGETI MIGRATION CAMP Enjoy breakfast on the open plains before spending a full day game viewing in the Serengeti. It’s not unusual to find twenty to thirty lion in a single pride resting under the shade of acacia tree! The annual wildebeest migration is the greatest wildlife show on earth with several millions of wildebeest and zebra trekking north to the Masai Mara while the cheetah and hunting dogs follow closely behind. An optional extra hot air Balloon ride over the Serengeti is the greatest game viewing experience of a lifetime, crusing at a a treetop level over herds of wildebeest and zebra summing up with a magnificent champagne breakfast on the savannah. Overnight at Migration Camp. (B, L, D) DAY 14: NGORONGORO SOPA LODGE After breakfast at the camp, continue to Ngorongoro Crater where two thousand foot walls surround a cater floor covering just over one hundred square miles. Arrive at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge which is built in to the crater rim, where you can spend the afternoon game viewing from the comfort of your balcony. Overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. (B, L, D) DAY 15: NGORONGORO –THE MANOR An early morning to the crater floor with picnic lunch, for a day of game viewing. The black mane lions rule over this unique domain. The crater is home to thousands of flamingoes that migrate from other Rift VALLEY lakes. Elephant, buffalo and rhino are found in greater concentrations here than anywhere else in Africa.
